Prior to our Holiday Symphony Concert, stop by the museum and enjoy free admission, a free tasting in the museum`s Harbor Room along with refreshments, and a best of all... a huge sale in our Museum Store! Every item in the store will be 10% to 50% off. Members of the museum also receive their regular 15% discount in addition to the sale pricing!  HOLIDAY SYMPHONY CONCERT Friday, December 11, 2015 Avalon Casino Theatre, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Avalon`s Casino Theatre has staged numerous memorable events, but nothing quite like the Catalina Island Museum`s annual Holiday Symphony Concert featuring an ensemble from one of the top universities on the West Coast, the distinguished Stanford Symphony Orchestra.  L ed by conductor Anna Wittstruck, the specially selected ensemble, comprised of members of the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Philharmonia Orchestra, will perform in the Avalon Casino Theatre on Friday, December 11th immediately following the museum`s Annual Holiday Open House. The ensemble combines Stanford University undergraduates, graduate students, and community players. "The highlight of the holiday season!" said Karen King, owner of Afishinados, following last year`s concert. "Growing up in Los Angeles I had the opportunity to experience this type of music all the time. On the island it is a different story. Thanks to the museum for offering such a wonderful experience in our spectacular theater." Free to the public. Doors open at 6:00 pm for members of the museum and 6:30 pm for the general public. National Museum Day honors America`s institutions dedicated to art, culture and history. The Catalina Island Museum annually celebrates this day by offering free admission - one of only 2 days each year in which admission is free of charge. All museum members, island residents and visitors are invited.
